Switching between Mac and Windows

I recently purchased a macbook with the hopes of doing some writing on it. After using Scrivener once on my macbook, I saved the file to the iCloud and went to my computer to make sure that everything did what it was supposed to. However, when I tried opening the project on my Windows 10 computer, it gives me an error telling me that the file was reated using a newer version and that I needed to update Scrivener. When I tried updating it, it told me that it was up to date. Anything that I can do to fix this?

I assume you’re using the new version 3 on the Mac. You either have to upgrade to the Windows 3 Beta, which is advertised as being a bit sketchy, or save the file as an older version on the the Mac so the older version of the Windows software can read it.

A third option is to download Mac Version 2.9.0, which can read Windows 1.9 projects, and just use that for shared projects until the Windows 3 version becomes available later this year (or the Beta become stable enough to use — I found the Mac beta to be stable enough to use full time nine months before release, but it depends on your appetite for risk.).

You can run V2.9 and V3 on the Mac side by side with no problems.
