switching from windows to mac?

I bought scrivener about a year ago for windows 7, but I’m upgrading my laptop to a mac. Am I going to lose all my work? And do I have to buy a whole new license now?

Hi,

You will be able to open your existing projects in Scrivener for Mac. Just zip them up (the easiest way is to use File > Back Up > Back Up To… and select the “Backup as ZIP file option”), transfer each zip file to its new location on your new Mac, unzip it there, then the project will be ready to open in Scrivener for Mac.

Our licences are not cross-platform, so you will need a separate licence for Scrivener for Mac. As you can see on our support page at http://www.literatureandlatte.com/support.php, if you change platforms we can transfer your licence to the other platform under certain conditions (for example, you must have bought the original licence from us). There is a processing fee involved, to cover the costs we incur from the company that handles our serial number generation and order processing. Please contact us at sales@literatureandlatte.com for more information.

Regards,
Astrid
