"Sync" Desktop and Notebook?

I have Scrivener on both my desktop (which I use predominantly) and my Notebook. Is there a way to sync them so that what I do on my desktop (whether I’m editing or adding new info) shows up when I switch to my Notebook? I thought it would happen automatically, but it doesn’t look like it does. Thanks!

Yes, but it’s not completely automatic or magic. Some understanding and setup is required. Take a look at and try the following:

  • Scrivener Manual (available in Scrivener via Help > Scrivener Manual or hitting F1 key,
    also available at literatureandlatte.com/support.php#Scrivener
    – 7.8 Backing Up Your Work,
    – Chapter 13 Cloud Integration and Sharing
    – Appendix B.9 Backup

  • Gwen Hernandez’s ebook and/or paper book Scrivener for Dummies (via Amazon)
    (see her discussion of backups)

  • Discussion of backing up and syncing Scrivener via DropBox
    scrivener.tenderapp.com/help/kb … th-dropbox

  • also search these forums (see search field and button above in upper right hand corner) using “sync” and “backup”, to find and read discussions regarding same, to get a sense of things, folks’ experiences and recommendations and best practices.

Hope that helps.

Thank you, SpringfieldMH. I’ll give your suggestions a try.
