Sync via Dropbox - selected projects

Via Dropbox, I sync 9 projects between my iMac and iphone.

This morning it took about 20 minutes, using 4G (I have an unlimited data plan), to complete a sync of approximately 4500 items. I understand that the sync has to check each project for any changes before downloading .

As I had only changed content in two projects, I am wondering whether there’s a way to sync only the ‘changed’ projects, rather than all of them.

(With Devonthink 3 Pro and Devonthink To Go (which I also sync via Dropbox) I can deselect any database that I do not want to sync.)

It only syncs the changes, so if you didn’t change anything in all those documents they shouldn’t have had to be downloaded.
Are you perhaps moving projects from your iPhone area "On Dropbox” to ”On my iPhone” when your sync has finished?

Only changed files will sync but, as you noted, Dropbox still has to walk the directory to see which files have changed.

On the Mac, to prevent a project from syncing you can either move it out of the Dropbox folder entirely or de-select it in the Dropbox Preferences -> Sync pane.

On the iPhone, move it to the “On this iPhone” section of Scrivener’s main project screen.

With either of these options, you’ll have to sync the whole thing if/when you re-enable syncing.

I have no edit button here on my iPhone. So I cannot move my projects from the iPhone to Dropbox. Please help!

Dang. The edit button is missing from my iPhone, too. :open_mouth: iPhone 8+, iOS 13.3.1, Scriv 1.2.1.

OK. Without an edit option to"move it" —how is this done?

The lack of an edit button is another one of those dark/light mode bugs. If you set Scrivener to follow the system appearance, then it should reappear. (This will be fixed in the next update.)

Fabulous! Thank you. This worked.
