I am writing on two different computers…my laptop and desk top. What is the best way of keeping the files on each synced so that the changes I make on one appear in the other.

Dropbox isn’t the only syncing solution, but it’s one of the most popular, and is very convenient. If you pay attention to the precautions.

I do the same: not just with Scrivener, but also with Tinderbox and Devonthink.

The way I’ve found that suits me best is to use Chronosync – I mirror my entire Documents folder on both machine and sync between them every time I log on to either.

You do have to be very careful to make sure you don’t leave the files open on the other machine, though. I’ve got in the habit of keeping Screen Sharing open, so it’s easy enough to check and to close them down if I have.

I also keep the Scrivener backups on Dropbox, but very rarely use them.
