Synopsis Background Colour

Having uninstalled and reinstalled Scrivener in order to try to resolve my Grammarly/Autocorrect issue (it didn’t), I’ve had to redo all my preferences. All fine except for one. In the Inspector panel, the synopsis background is Teal. I can’t see anywhere in Preferences to change this. Under Appearance>Inspector & Notes, the only Colors options I get are Rich Text, Notes Background & Bookmarks Preview.

Should I be looking somewhere else for this?

TIA

I have the windows version but suspect will be the same.
Options (? prefs for you)>Appearance>Composition Mode-color tab will see a lot of options and on windows version at least option to change synopsis background. Really should be under inspector section when open or even both. On the surface doing in composition mode makes no sense. i hope that works

Thanks for the reply but that only changes it in composition mode.

Try Preferences/ Appearance/Index Cards/Index Card Background

This is the way to fix it. The Synopsis box is tied to the Index Cards, and changing the background to the Index cards simultaneously changes the appearance of the Synopsis box.

Bingo! Thank you.

You’d think that the terminology in preferences would match that in the rest of the app.

Thanks, I get it now

In case you don’t know----you can save yourself quite a bit of time and give yourself some flexibility by using Scrivener’s “Manage” feature. You could have restored your preferences in whole as a saved preset with a couple mouse clicks.

From the Scrivener manual (access at the Help menu), appendix subsection B.1.1:

B.1.1 Preference Presets and Themes

Along the bottom left edge of the preference window you will find a Manage… button with a dropdown menu containing several options available for organis- ing or backing up your settings, as well as access to any presets you have installed. This can be particularly useful if you work on more than one computer, and in the case of themes, to switch up your working environments between favourite sets of colours and even fonts.[…]

Thanks for that. I did know but I was getting so frustrated at the time that I forgot! :joy:
