tables bugs (again?)

Maybe already reported but…

  1. I’m working in full screen view on a file with a large table in it. Right click / table properties… and Scriv crashes.

  2. Blank lines after tables disappear - when Scriv saves, I think.

  3. There are many problems with text formatting in empty cells. eg when the contents of a cell are deleted, Scriv changes the text format to the default for the page. If I select a whole table and set the font, existing text is changed, but the setting is not remembered for empty cells.

Thanks. These are on the list.

It happens not just in full screen mode, but in normal mode, too.
At some point I managed to get it to work, thanks to a posting I cannot find at the moment. Also, there seem to be different opinions by the moderators as to whether this is a bug or not.

Crashing and blank lines being removed are definitely bugs. Formatting handling could be debatable whether it’s a bug or just not the popularly desired way of handling things; I have it on the list for Lee to look into and hopefully change, but if there’s a programming reason why this isn’t currently possible, then it’s not really a bug so much as a casualty of war. Or something like that. At any rate consider it on the “feature request” list, to be added if possible.

Another table issue:

  • table with six columns.
  • open the table properties box. First column is 5%, the rest are 18% each.
  • increase the larger columns to 19% each (making 100% in total).
  • close the table properties box
  • select another document
  • go back to the document with the table
  • open the table properties box
  • scriv has reset the width of all the larger columns to 18%
