I downloaded the NaNoWriMo template from the page literatureandlatte.com/nanowrimo.php to use for this year’s competition but when I try to import it into the project templates, I get an error that reads “The file ‘Novel (NaNoWriMo).scrivtemplate’ does not contain valid project template data and so could not be imported”. I’ve recently updated to Yosemite, if that helps.
No problems here, importing into Scrivener 2.6 on 10.10. Check to see if you can import any templates at all. I’ve attached a very simple “Blank” template to this. Download the .zip, extract it, and see if it imports.
blank_test.zip (27.9 KB)
I was able to open that template with no trouble.
I tried it and it didn’t work for me. I’ve been trying to load other templates and get the same message, too.
Okay, maybe the file download was not successful? The template file should be precisely like this, when viewed in File/Get Info… from Finder:
Try downloading again (resetting the browser cache first) if the indicated large, 1.3 million-ish, number is not identical.
@abuzzinid: Your forum tag is set to Windows, but this is a Mac thread. If you’re asking about the Windows version of Scrivener, the problem is most likely entirely different in nature. I can move your post to the appropriate subsection of the forum if you wish.
The file I had in my downloads was 737k, nowhere near that 1.3m you described. I downloaded it once again and it’s working this time. Thanks for your help!
