Text at end of document goes missing[ADDRESSED]

I’ve got maybe four pages in a text document open - the first of five in file. I scroll down to the end of the document and the last half a page or so is missing. (I know it should be there, because I saved a compiled back up before I finished editing yesterday.

So I delete the last visible line I can see on screen, and the first line of the text I know is missing appears in its place. Delete that, the next line of missing text appears.

An update - just deleted all the text in the wonky Scrivener document and copied & pasted the text from my back up RTF file back to the same Scrivener doc. The text is there - but when I go to another Scriv document and then back to the wonky one the same chunk of text is missing.

I’ve checked the relevant RTF file within the Scrivener ‘files’ folder and the text is there in entirety.

I’ve tried creating a new Scrivener document and copying and pasting text from my back up RTF file, but get the same problem.

With regret, I think I’ll have to stop using Scrivener for now until this is resolved.

What version of the beta are you using? Have you updated to the beta 1.3?

There are many known RTF issues that impact elements of the Scrivener editor.

Here’s an interim work around to remove all rtf tags (including formatting):

  1. Cut the text from your RTF source i.e. Word, Open Office etc.
  2. Paste text into Windows Notepad
  3. Cut text from Windows Notepad
  4. Delete doggy Scrivener document from binder
  5. Create new Scrivener document (CTRL+N)
  6. Paste text into new Scrivener document.

Apologies - I was still on 1.0. Updated to 1.3 and the issue is resolved. I’ll go back to using Scrivener!
