I am using the Novel mode and writing when the text deletes. There is no undo - in word you can recapture what was erased. I also don’t understand why this happens.

Could you explain in a little more detail, with step-by-step instructions, what you are doing? There is no “novel” mode–do you mean that you’re working in a project created from the Novel template? Are you typing text in the editor (the main section of the Scrivener window)? I’m really not clear on what you mean by the text deleting, so I’m not sure how to help you out with this. There is and undo feature (Ctrl-Z, or Edit>Undo)–what happens when you use this?
