Hey guys - I am certainly glad to have dropbox folder sync, and I hear-ya in regards to wanting to get rid of the support headaches you apparently are having with Simplenote; however, if I may offer another point-of-view here…
I am coming at this from the standpoint of wanting mobile device editing support for my Scrivener content first and foremost, and then wanting simpler and more robust citation management capability next.
My logic for why support for a 3rd party editor with broad mobile platform support is BOTH good for Literature and Latter AND for your customers is as follows:
The one great advantage for Literature and Latter supporting Simplenote or some other 3rd party mobile editor is that they would do the heavy lifting to support multiple mobile platforms (like Simplenote does with Android, iOS, Kindle and Blackberry 10).
Literature and Latte does incur some pain and cost, but far less dealing with just one platform, while gets broad mobile platform coverage of high value to customers who need choice in return.
iOS is great, but I happen to be a blackberry 10 man because I love the device reliability, data security and keyboard, and I am a Windows PC man at the desk because I have applications I need there for work.
Certainly Simplenote is not the only choice nor perhaps even the best either, as compared to say Evernote, MS OneNote, or even Zotero Notes for that matter so that Citation Management could also be enhanced.
After having core Scrivener back on my Windows PC which I adore, mobile device editing support is certainly #1. #2 being easier and more powerful citation management and integration for books and also WordPress articles. I surmise many other non-fiction writers are in the same boat.
I hope you will at least consider this angle in your decision making process as you move on to V3.
Thanks for listening.
Best,
Greg
