The document "(null)" could not be opened.

Hello,

I’ve been using Scrivener for well over a year with no issues. Today, however, I have not been able to open the one and only file I’ve been editing. As soon as I select the file from the app launch dialogue box, a window appears stating:

“The document “(null)” could not be opened.”

It appears as if the file has been corrupted since the file name does not appear but rather “(null)”. The last time I was using the application, I was copying and pasting text from Scrivener into MS Word. I really don’t know what to do, please help!

Would it be possible to send us a copy of the project in question? If that’s okay with you, zip it up and send it to our support address.

Otherwise, I would try restoring from an earlier backup. If you’ve never done that before, you’ll find instructions in the user manual, under §6.11.4, Restoring from Backups, pg. 57.
