I am sure that’s true. But encouraging more book-reading has to be good.
I bought the first book based on all of the hype and was disappointed. The characters are interesting, but this sucker moves at a turtle’s pace, and I found myself skimming pages just to hurry up and finish it. The quality of writing isn’t interesting enough to keep your attention. Overall I thought it was dull, even if it was well researched. I didn’t understand the international acclaim surrounding the book.
The movie was a little more interesting than the book, and the adaptation was pretty faithful. This book proves the exception to the rule, as I would suggest skipping it and just watch the movie.
