Tokens and Codes

I have just come back to Scrivener after using version one some years ago. I now have a copy of version two and am attempting to add paragraph numbers to my compiled output. I remember that I use to add codes to the main text which were converted on compile to the required numbers. Is this still the method to use and if so where are the codes documented: I have searched the user manual but not found the information that I need?

best wishes

Hi Simon,

You can find a complete list of codes by going to Help > Placeholder Tags List…

If you are just adding numbers to documents (as in chapter numbering), you can now add these codes at compile time via the “Level Settings…” in the “Formatting” pane. if you are looking for bulleted lists, you can just use the regular lists feature. Otherwise, yes, these tags are the way to go.

All the best,
Keith

Thanks Keith,
Just the nudge I needed! I’m glad that Scrivener is going from strength to strength.
