I’ve browsed for a while but didnt find the answer to this question that must have come out at some point. I set my scrivener backup folder in dropbox, and chose the option “only keep 3 most recent back ups”. Hovewer I have at least 20-25 backup files now in that folder and my dropbox can’t sync because is full. When I try to eliminate manually the oldest version there is always some problem. Is there any way to actually keep only the latest 3 backup files? Why do I have so many backup files in that folder instead of only 3 like I chose in the preferences?
Thanks a lot and sorry for asking a question that maybe has already been asked.
Not sure if this will be of any help to you, but you cannot edit a project in you backups folder; Scrivener assumes (I guess) that you are trying to retrieve data from backups that you are un-zipping there, and so will refrain from cleaning out old backups.
So, make sure your backups have their own folder, separate from where you keep your ‘active’ projects.
I hope that helps.
Hi Robert, thanks for taking time to read and answer my post. I’m actually saving my main project in the back-up folder, so that might be the problem. I’ll change location and let you know if I have solved the problem. Bye for now
