Total comic panels per page placeholder code?

I’m using the comic book template and I would love to be able to have a running total for the number of panels on a page listed after the page number I’ve looked through the list of placeholder tags that Scrivener supplies, but I can’t find (or decipher) any information that wold allow me to do this.

Any suggestions?

While I’m at it, is there any way in the script settings to automatically add “PANEL <$SN>” to my page after choosing “panel number” from the drop-down menu while writing?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Bret,

There’s no way to add the number of panels after the page number, no (I assume you mean in the header?). The trouble is that Scrivener doesn’t really have any concept of panels - each element is just some preset formatting. It would also be difficult to do this at compile time for the different formats, too.

Regarding choosing “panel number”, isn’t “PANEL <$SN>” already added? At any rates, you can customise all the formatting and auto-inserted text by going to Format > Scriptwriting > Script Settings. Let me know if you need any more details tough.

All the best,
Keith
