Is there a way to turn off the script element menu? It stops me being able to add new lines. I don’t want to leave script mode but I want enter to add an empty line like normal. Thank you!

You can’t turn off the Script Element menu without exiting Script Mode.

So I guess the question is why do you want to add empty lines? The whole point of the script formats is that every component of the layout, including white space, is specified as part of the format.

If you want a different amount of white space between elements, you can use the Format → Scriptwriting → Script Settings menu to change the “normal” spacing.
