I’m in the middle of having an outliner epiphany, and it is so good. I just started jotting some initial notes for a project (one that’s supposed to be back burner, and therefore of course is of worlds more interest than all the ones I ought to be working on) and using the outliner view to do it—short one-liner as the title, a few more details in the synopsis, boom. It’s amazing. I’m sure this is not news for anyone who’s used Scrivener for a while or who habitually outlines in this way, but by golly, it’s totally making my night. I can practically envision the novel as a bound book in my hands right now. (Note that it is also rather late and my lack of sleep could be slightly affecting my euphoria.) Every time I open this program, it just gets better.
My question, as I blissfully bang away, is whether there’s a way to get the typewriter scrolling effect for the outliner view. I realize it’s a strange request, but as I’m working in it exclusively at the moment, I’m getting that same “oh, but I don’t want to keep running into the bottom of the page” itch that most people, I guess, get when they’re doing the real writing in the editor. (Personally, I like my text to go two thirds down the page, but that’s just me and my issues. It’s a thirds thing.) So far as I know, typewriter scrolling is just for the editor and full screen. Anyone have a brilliant idea for achieving the same effect in the outliner?
Cheers!
