Ummm...what's with NOT displaying this font?

So…downloaded a trial of 3.0.2 (macos High Sierra). And I am finding something very strange…

There is a system font called IOWAN BT (available in all apps–Mac as well as non-mac). But it does NOT appear in either the editing preferences (does not appear, as in, just missing) OR, even when I am trying to change it in the Editor.

This font is available everywhere–Word, pages, Vellum, Final Draft (yes!), Textedit, Sublime Text…everywhere…except Scrivener.

Same thing on both my machines running macos.

But WORSE, if I remove 3.0.2 and install 2.x.x THEN the font appears perfectly.

Any suggestions? Am I doing something wrong? Two Macs at the same time is too much of a you-must-have-muddled-something-up kind of a co-incidence. No?

Cheers in advance.

Curiously, I think you may have done something “wrong” in order to get access to Iowan. Yes it’s a system font, but it’s for iBooks and Safari Reader; it shouldn’t be available via Font Book and therefore unavailable in TextEdit, etc.

If you open Font Book, select Iowan and hit ⌘R where is it in Finder?

@zubingarda, I confirm that on my own Mac (see specs below) Iowan is completely unavailable (save in iBooks). You must be lucky!

So…it seems that I have somehow, inadvertently, messed up things…

I can see the IOWAN font. In the Font Book. But not with the SYSTEM as I previously thought. But, under USER.

Also, its a pair of 6 .TTF fonts.

So I uninstalled them.

And now, it works as expected – that is, it’s not showing up anywhere, except iBooks. And Vellum.

On the other hand, I regret removing it. :frowning:

But oh well! You live and learn.

Thanks for all the support, guys!
