Unable to customise toolbar

My Macbook pro packed up, so I now have a macbook air, running scrivener 3.5.2 (17487) and I am unable to customise the toolbar. In the customise window if I try to drag anything onto the toolbar nothing happens. There are 2 ‘flexible spaces’ where `i presume you ought to be able to drop your options into. Also if I try to drag anything out of the toolbar it lifts the whole toolbar but then doesn’t do anything with it.
I have deleted the literature & latte plist out of library and restarted Scrivener to o avail.

When you select “Customize toolbar” you should see a menu with all of the things you can add to the toolbar. In addition the items on the toolbar should be ‘dancing’ the way icons on iOS and iPadOS do when you are in arrangement mode.

It looks like this in my setup:

Note: If I drag the print icon to the top (green arrow) it works. If I drag it to the bottom (red arrow) it does not. The bottom is just a preview not a live view.

If you’re doing that and it still isn’t working, my best suggestion is to open a support ticket.
