delete a word or section of text by backing over it holding down the ‘Backspace’ key; then

Hit ‘Undo’ (Ctrl-X)
2 only restores a single character of the deleted text. You have to hit it once for every character you want restored.
I presume this isn’t the desired behaviour. I’m not sure what the algorithm is, but in Textpad, eg, if you backspace away some text, then hit ctrl-x, ALL of the deleted text reappears. I also presume I’m not the only one who finds that a lot more convenient. (All us obsessive editors . . .)
