Unexpected Add Text behavior[NOTED]

In my writing process, I’m creating Folders that hold the sections (acts and chapters) of my book. For each scene, I’m creating a Text file. But I’m adding my planning for each scene in a file (or multiple files) “beneath” the scene.

Right now to do this, I have to Add Text at the same level as my Scene Text file. Then I have to drag and drop this new Text File onto the Scene Text file. And that works.

BUT…

From the Binder, I would expect to be able to :

  1. Select the text file created for the scene.
2a. Right click -> Add -> New Text or
    2b. ctrl-N
2c. Select the Cork Board view and Add New Text

I would expect any of those three methods to create a new Text File beneath the Scene Text File. But they don’t. All three of these methods end up creating a new Text File at the same level as the Scene Text File and that seems incorrect to me. All three methods seem to work perfectly fine with a Folder.

Noted. This has been implemented as per the Mac version. We have a bug raised on nested folders when a user clicks CTRL+ALT+N. However the ‘Add Text’ is working as expected. I find personally I use the CTRL+ ARROW keys to quickly position folders and text elements in the binder far quicker than using a mouse. However, if there is strong opposition from this current implementation I’m happy to look at possibly changing it.

I hadn’t been aware I could use the ctrl+arrow feature until I read this. Wow. So much easier. Please keep it.

Yeah. That was new to me, too.
