update Scrivener and it made a Scrivener Beta file

So I had a Scrivener Beta file on my computer (as well as Scrivener) but I deleted the beta file and restarted my computer and clicked update in Scrivener and it updated it to a ScrivenerBeta file. Why? How do I fix this? Thanks.

Do you mean it installed the update to a folder called ScrivenerBeta or such? It sounds like the information for where the program was installed, which the auto-updater accesses to install updates to the appropriate location, just got mixed up due to your having multiple installations. For a clean sweep, just uninstall all the versions you have, then download and install 1.2.5 from here. Reinstalling will not affect your existing projects, which are saved externally to the program (in your Documents folder by default, though you may have chosen another location when creating the project), though it’s a good opportunity to make sure your backups are up to date.
