Hi.
I only just learned there has been an update from Scrivener 1.7.1 to 1…2.
Does anyone know it I can just install 1.7.2 over 1.7.1, and retain my various settings and preferences, including toolbar layouts, etc?
This will be my first time updating from one official release to another.
Perviously, I’ve only installed betas, where I would do a fresh install into a new folder and (IIRC) would need to recreate and/or import saved settings.
Thanks!
I think it should be fine, but that’s just a guess as some of those items (like the toolbar) I’ve never customized.
I’ve always upgraded though and thus far I’ve never lost any of my custom layouts, substitutions, preferences or compile settings. YMMV of course.
Saving your preferences first in the Options dialog is probably the prudent way to go.
Thanks. Yeah. I always do backups before, anyway. But I can never keep straight what can and can not be backed up, alone or as part of a wider settings set. And that would determine my eagerness to upgrade.
But I’ll update before I next shut down, and get with the program next time I start up.
