I’m sorry if I missed something and I can’t see an FAQ for this but I was wondering if there is a way to have Scrivener open up for new documents with the split already set for vertical splits rather than horizontal?
I see that when you change the setting via the menu or the keyboard shortcut the split button changes orientation which is what I’m after but I think it would be nice for my new documents to come up with a standard setup.
Is there a way of doing this?

Hi Andy,
There’s not, but it sounds as though you are doing things the hard way - holding down the Option key will switch the orientation of the split when you press the button in the header bar. So just hold down the Option key when you press the button in the right of the header bar above the editor in new projects and you should be good - it saves having to go through the menu.
