Voice recognition

Any plans to add voice recognition to scrivener?

I don’t know about any plans, but in macOS version of Scrivener under the Edit Menu is dictation already there and working. Available on iPhone now also. I do not use very often, though.

You calling it “voice recognition” is something different that already there?

Thank you for your answer. I actually did not know that dictation was there right before my eyes. I just now tried it but… Apparently, as a drop-down box says, when I click “start dictation” dictate text, it is sent to Apple to be converted to text and also other information such as the names of my contacts are sent to Apple also.
I’m not too keen on doing that
Thank you

Mac Scrivener makes use of the dictation tools that are part of Mac OS. I would expect that to continue to be our approach in future releases.

Thanks
I suppose I could dictate text into another processor or application and import it into Scrivener. Perhaps would work.??

Once you have a text version, sure, Scrivener can import it like it would any other file.

People have also used third-party software to dictate directly into Scrivener, with more or less success depending on the application.

I am trying to write an autobiography for my kids and noticed that simple memories are taking too long to get written by me and that I need to get info down on the page so I can manipulate it faster in Scrivener. I think what I’m feeling is my age

I hate to be a pest, but do you happen to know what the third-party application or software people have used to dictate directly into Scrivener?

I think Dragon is the big gorilla in the voice recognition space. But also check to see what tools the operating system you’re using provides.

Well golly. Gee, I just noticed a blog on LNL written three days ago about how to use dictation with Scrivener, so I appreciate your efforts. Anyway, thank you again.
