Way to make new text appear on top of folder?

Simple question from a new user: when I create a new text in a folder, or a new folder in a binder, the “Untitled” icon always appears at the very bottom of the list. Is there a way to make it appear at the top?

The only way I can think of is to create the new item on the corkboard, with “Double-clicking on the corkboard background: Creates a new card” set in the Corkboard preference pane.

Next-best solution is to select the first item in the container and then create the new item, then use Ctrl-Cmd-UpArrow (or LeftArrow in Corkboard) to move it up a slot.
