Website Images

Dear Friends: Happy New Year. I’m having difficult having images be seen when I drag a website link into my Research folder. Everything else is there, but not images (often just blank boxes). Is there a setting with Scrivener that I need to change? Thanks as always. --Joe

Some web sites put special codes in their HTML to prevent getting images and sometimes other stuff to be downloaded. perhaps “print” a PDF copy of the web pages you want ant save that to your research folder.

I use Snagit as image capture software and can mark it up, however Windows has its own capture software. Use Windows key + Shift + S and you can capture an image with the crosshairs that appear. This will be saved to the clipboard (Shortcut Windows Key + V) and if you click inside Scrivener then if you click the image saved in the clipboard it is pasted into Scrivener.

Don’t you better insert it as a bookmark, so you can use the preview pane in the Inspector Bookmarks tab to view the webpage?
Scrivener will convert the webpage to Rich Text Format, leaving out the images when you drag it into Research.

Agree, if insert the bookmark for the new webpage and inserted images back into it, then they will show up there to illustrate the article/info you imported.

Many thanks to you both for your advice. I’ll give it a try. Thanks again.
