When in Rome, and all that…
As adorable as the Penguins are, they now have to yield to the Master. Peace Piece…oh my!

I LOVE both albums. Good taste! I actually saw PCO playing live in Rome, although on a different night and even venue (I think, not sure anymore…) than the ones on that CD

Also,
I’m gonna see them live tonight! I can’t believe Ozzy is still alive, haha!
Wot makes y’ think he’s… alive
I’ll play…
Been listening to a lot of Red Baraat. They bill themselves as funk “Dhol 'n Bass.” Think what would happen if you cross Bollywood with Tower of Power.
Other band is Shovels and Rope. They’re kind of folk/roots.
Just unearthed this wormhole to another Blues Supernova.
Yeah Mamma!!

My favourite, and my great granddog is on the cover…
Bodmin,
I don’t want to upset you… mind you… but your great granddog looks like a very miserable, large black rat.
Fluff
He looked like a corpse, but he sounded good most of the time. It was a great show all in all. It was so loud.
Seems appropriate at this hour…
I personally don’t listen to too much music anymore. I’ve opted for podcasts and Radio New Zealand (who have excellent interviews and current affairs stories).
However I have introduced my girls to my taste from when I was younger and so they have been listening to Paul Simon’s Graceland and Talking Heads’ Little Creatures.
They are four and six years old. Old enough, I think, to introduce them to The Violent Femmes’ Debacle and Greenday’s Dookie, no?

Get 'em to listen to Metallica. They’ll love it.
MASTERRRR

First show I saw was the Violent Femmes. They played at my college for like 10 bucks a ticket. Good times.
Play them “Add It Up” by the Femmes to start off with that way sticker shock dissipates by the time you get to Long View on Dookie.
I don’t know that they actually save rock and roll, or that it needs saving necessarily, but still a good album. A bit of a poppier direction than their previous stuff.
Back when The Cure released the Head on the Door - Robert Smith said they’d tried to make every song sound like it was from a different band. I’m thinking FOB may have had a similar idea on this one.
I like FOB molto molto, and Save Rock and Roll has its moments. But to my ears they’ve yet to equal (much less exceed) Infinity On High, which is pretty much non-stop goodness.
And speaking of non-stop goodness…
Their first. Never out of rotation.
Oh hey, I’ve met Harold Budd. Really nice guy.

I think I mentioned elsewhere in this thread that I don’t typically listen to albums - I just have one large playlist (5000+ songs) that I keep on shuffle, I find the randomness entertaining.
But this thread is about albums, so here’s a rather useless infographic of the top albums at least partially played in the last month.
Too bad they didn’t have the art for all of them, oh well.
Apparently my tastes skew young and female (on the age graph I’m that lone bar out in the mid 40’s):
