Any writers here in London? I just finished my MA in Creative Writing here and miss the camaraderie with other writers. If anyone wants to get a Scrivener Writing group together, I’d be in!
Just to give you some sort of feedback, I am and I’m not. The home is in London, but I’m here in China, working, for the next 8 or 9 months at least … after that, who knows. So maybe, when I get back …
Because of unforeseen circumstances the saga stalled in early Dec, and stayed stalled because of further unforeseen occurrences in March. However, I am now 4000 words into finishing it off, and it is my intention to strap it down onto the alter of lit-crit as the inaugural bag of grist for the mill @The ScrivLitCritForum ( that is if we ever get it of the ground).
I think it only right and fitting that I dedicate the finished product to mike, as some small recompense for my past misdeeds.
Pink and Paul ( arrrgghh!! sounds like some 10th rate Club duo act ), The Quietone, are London based.
Nuff said
Take care

Edited: Thank you Mark for your timely intervention Here I go again, piling insultninjury on top of the original insult. There`s no stopping me , once I get going! jeezz!!
Vic, old friend, much as I appreciate your apology, I take it that it is really going to Mike, whose thread this is, or Loft, whose thread the one you quote was. I don’t believe I contributed to the latter, and for this, as I said, being here in the exotic orient, even though my permanent abode is London, I currently can’t join in any Scrivener-jamboree in the big smoke. As for Pink and Paul and maybe others … I can’t speak for them.
Why not? It isn’t like we refrain from that often in these parts. And it is easy. Watch, I’ll show you.
KB thinks that the addition of the “Beer” option under the “New” section of the File menu will be the single greatest achievement for mankind.
See how that works? Easy as typing “vic-k is is the multifarious piratical tri-legged wonder pooch of the nether regions of this meandering voyage” which, considering the number of times I had to retype words due to various misspellings, was really not all that easy. Hmm…
Please. I wear black and brights (lots of pink, but some teal, lime green, and purple), and can pass for 12. If I look like I write anything, it’s emo poetry, not fiction that modernize the female gothic tradition.
Historic. I often deal with women’s issues and topics that many people are uncomfortable to talk about, and my characters tend to share my traditional morals and make decisions that might be considered unpopular.
For example, a current project involves a runaway white slave. Both she and a childhood friend of hers aren’t asked for their opinions by the guys who get kids on them. Having been conceived in a mandatory fashion, myself, and born 3 months prematurely, and quite happy to be alive despite my mother’s family actually kicking teenaged her out because she wouldn’t abort me, I don’t see abortion as fitting response to a rape. What’d the kid ever do to the mom?
(I’m presenting that as my own view that influences my characters. I am NOT attempting to start a debate here. So please don’t start on the “fetus isn’t a person yet” line, because I know enough biology to contest that, and I tend to be… touchy about that topic, particularly when people start insisting that people in my mother’s position cannot possibly raise the resultant children for the sake of their psychological health. My mother’s fine, thanks.)

weak smile Let’s see how well I’ve expressed myself.
