I’m currently running v. 1.9.9 of Scrivener for Windows. When I started it up for the first time in awhile today, of course I got the update notification for the Critical Hot Fix released 17 Sept, to v. 1.9.14, intended to resolve a critical issue with Paddle regarding automatic re-activation. I’ve seen the threads here on these issues, and they’re pretty alarming. I have two questions.
- Can I keep using v. 1.9.9, since it opens and runs without incident? Is there an activation anniversary that I will run into sometime and then have to deal with Paddle?
- This update requires Microsoft .NET 4.6.2, and I know from the forums that there have been problems with earlier versions of .NET. How can I find out what version of .NET I have (I can’t find it in Control Panel)?
Thanks for any advice!
