Windows version compiling to wrong page size

I am trying to compile what I have so far of my MS so I can go through it on paper. Under “Page Setup”, it is set to letter size paper. But when I try to compile, it is doing so using the size of a label for my Dymo printer! I can’t figure out how to fix this.

Any ideas?

Hi jjohnsonvet  Welcome to the forum.

There is two “page setup” in the software.

One under the File menu
2022-10-25 00_07_45-

and one in the compile format.
(Adjust your page size in the compile format (this one below), and make sure the option I pointed in red is unchecked.)
→ To access the compile format, double-click it in the list, left side of the compile panel.

Or, adjust your page size in File / Page Setup (first screenshot) and have this option (red arrow) checked. Your choice.

If that doesn’t work, tell us a bit more. Such as what compile format you are using (left side of the compile panel).

Also note that it is best not to compile for print. (That compile output has issues.) Rather compile to PDF, have a look at it to make sure everything is fine, and then if so, print that.

Where is the compile format in Windows?

There is a list on the left side of the compile panel.
The one you last used will be highlighted gray.
Double click it.

And also tell us which one it is.

My compile window looks nothing like that

I see. I’ve tried it a few ways, as Manuscript and as Proof Copy, and as PDF and Word doc. Always comes out in a label size.

Well, ok. The proof copy compile format should have used a letter page size…
Lemme think…

Is everything small but using a full page ?
Or is it just one tinny print somewhere on the page ?

It’ normal size type, but the page size is set at something like 1" x 3"

And you get the same result compiling to PDF ?

Else, it could be your printer (?)
(But if you get the same result compiling to PDF, nevermind your printer, the problem is elsewhere.)

Of course, that is my printer’s driver/preferences. Yours will most probably be different, but likely it has the same settings, only elsewhere.

For the moment, I wouldn’t know what else to tell you.
Perhaps tomorrow I’ll think of something else.
But worry not, lots of smart people here, someone I’m sure will figure it out.
