Wish list: grammar/style editing

Hi,

This item on my wish list has more to do with the content of what is being edited than it has to do with coding - I’ll begin with some context:

I have ADHD. As such, I find it hard to concentrate, as you would expect, and get distracted easily, you know… the whole package deal. Now what does this have to do with grammar and style editing, you ask? Well, as it stands, I do the editing of my most blatant grammar and syntax mistakes (of which there are many, and I am blaming my unmedicated ADHD brain unironically) with standalone apps or add-ins in Word 365 - I have used the Hemingway app, Grammarly and PerfectIt with varying success, and the core concept of these add-ons and apps seems to be what I need.

I have noticed, however, that once I extract content to either of the aforementioned, the concentration that I have endeavoured so hard to maintain breaks and it is hard for me to retain it. It would greatly help my writing and concentration if I would not have to export my text in any way, so that I can instantly make adjustments where necessary without searching and switching windows.

I have browsed through the menus in Scrivener Beta version 2.9.0.35 prior to formulating this rather long-winded question, and perhaps I missed it… Though I can find a myriad of spelling checkers, dictionaries and other search options, for which I am absolutely grateful, I can’t seem to find an add-in or tool that focuses on integrated grammar/syntax/style/consistency or readability of a text. Is it in any way possible to add this function? I would be forever grateful if you do!

Pro Writing Aid has the ability to directly edit Scrivener files. Although this means shutting down Scrivener and firing up Pro Writing Aid, it does satisfy your desire to be able to apply grammar and style checks to your Scrivener projects without the need to export and then re-import the text. There is a charge for the program and the user interface is not the same but I have found it to be a useful addition to my writing toolbox.

Thanks for the heads up with Pro Writing. I never knew this existed until I read this post. I am on the trial version at the moment and so far I think it is what I have needed for a long time.
