Word Count and Project Statistics Mis-Match

I don’t remember this being a problem in the last iteration of Scrivener, but now Project Statistics isn’t reporting correctly. See images.

Check your compile settings. The project statistics panel uses the actual compiled output to generate its count, as that is considered to be the most accurate. It is possible to include many thousands of words in the Draft that are not actually in the draft, thanks to annotations and that “Include in Compile” checkbox, so the editor may show a result that does not match reality.

In this case, you might have set the compiler to only output a portion of the book. So check the Contents pane, make sure it is all there, and use the new “Save & Close” button once that has been corrected.

You were absolutely right, AmberV. Thank you for helping me out.
