I’ve sent the sample via email. 
It’s an RTF file exported from Word Perfect x5. The original WP file contained some notes in the form of comments written in colored type and had some bullets in the formatting. Page Four and Microsoft Word display this file very differently. Scrivener crashes. But even doing a simple cut and paste from Page Four ( which is just text, but retained part of the formatting) Scrivener adds the symbol for female (Venus zodiac sign) where the comments are.
