Working Same project between a Mac and Windows.

Hey there. Wasn’t sure whether to put this in Windows or Mac forum since I use both. I’m primarily a Mac user but this issue involves both platforms…

Currently, I have a novel I’m writing on my Mac at home. The file is syncing to Dropbox. I also have a Windows laptop that I would like to work on while on the go.

What is the best practice/sequence for saving work and moving back and forth working on the same project between Mac Scrivener and Windows Scrivener. Caveat: I realize a new Windows version is dropping in ten days. Right now I have the most recent Windows Beta on that machine (ver 2.9.0.21 Beta) and Scrivener 3 on my Mac.

Any special file export/import procedures? Any pitfalls to watch out for? Will this lead to corruption of files? I’d appreciate any help/advice from people who currently are working on the same project between both platforms.

Thanks!

Don’t use import/export. Put the file in the Dropbox folder, install the Dropbox application on both machines, and it should “just work.”
