Writing History, but for whole notes/documents

Hi,
I was wondering if there is a way, such as a log or something, that tells you which documents you have edited or changed?
I noticed there is a “writing history” feature, which tells you how many words etc you’ve written in a project, but I am after something that tells me in which documents I’ve written or edited.
I use Scrivener for studying, and I have lots of documents for subjects & topics in my research. But short of manually writing down each document that I add to or edit every day, there does not seem to be such a feature. This means I often lose track of which documents I’ve made changes to.
Also, I have a lot of PDFs in my project, and I make notes on them. Wondering also if there is a log, such as the one I am talking about above, that tells you which pdfs you’ve made changes to or edited/updated etc? I know there are little dots on the Inspector’s notes and bookmark headings, but you have to open each file to see if you’ve written anything. Is there a feature that can show which ones I’ve made notes in at a glance?
Just wondering if there is a feature that can do this.
If not, then I guess the best bet is to create a note/document in the project bookmarks and keep manual track of the changes.

Second question, if there is no “log” as such which shows these, is there a way to sort documents by changes? Eg, sorting documents not by title or whatever but by edit/update?

EDIT: I just noticed that there is a “modified date” option in the outliner. I think I might just use that for the whole project.

Sounds like you hit upon the right answer to your question at the end there!

True. But this is not possible in the iOS version. Furthermore, if I have a tonne of documents nested under a bunch of parent files, then edited files will not line up in order because of the other unedited files under the same parent.

So, my original question still stands.

As to the second point, you can get a straight sort in the outliner. One way is to select all the relevant stuff in the Binder (rather then just a containing folder). Then everything will sort flat. Alternatively, you can do a project search for everything (*) in the Draft folder — the result of the search is presented in the Binder as a flat list. Your sorted outliner view of that will give you a straight sort.

Discussion of just this point came up in another recent post.
