I write in UK English, and it’s the only dictionary I have on my system. The Scriv spellcheck follows UK English rules when I’m writing, but when I compile to Word, the doc is set to US English. Is there anything I can do to get compile to produce UK English docs?
My MS Word defaults are all UK English, and I’ve tried with LibreOffice, which also shows the doc as US English (and consequently marks all my UK spellngs as incorrect).
This may be down to the file conversion used after the compile process rather than the compiling itself. Have you tried compiling to RTF instead? Have you got Use Enhanced Converters checked in Preferences/Sharing/Conversion?
Sorry Rob, I didn’t get a note of your reply. Thanks though.
I’ve just tested a RTF compile and that opens in Word as UK English.
I do have enhanced converters on, and turning it off solves the problem. It also speeds up compiling/converting. But what features do I lose using the standard MacOS converters?
