Zipped Backup Failed with Error

Hello. I’m getting a “zip operation failed” error whenever I try to back up my scrivener project to my MacBook hard drive. It seems to save fine to Dropbox (not as a zipped file) but when I do a manual backup (or back up on close) and enable zip it fails. This happens regardless what folder I point it to on my hard drive.

I created a test project and manually backed that up as a zip with no problem, so I assume something is off in my main project, but I have no idea what. Any ideas or suggestions?

I’m running Scrivener 3.5 on a M2 MacBook Air with Tahoe 26.0.1, if that means anything. Thank you!

Do you have non-standard characters as documents’ title or something the likes?
In your project’s name, maybe?
(Under Windows that’s a potential cause for zip failure. Likely the same is true for Mac.)

Yes! That was exactly the problem. I got rid of that character and now it works. You fixed it – thanks so much for the assist
