it would be nice if in the quick reference panels have the ability to change the zoom factor of the text within them. you know, that little guide on the bottom of the editor telling you what % your are viewing at.
There is no interface for it (for lack of space—the area in the lower left where this might go is used for statistics in text documents and scripting elements in scriptwriting mode), but you can always use the zoom shortcuts, Shift-Cmd-, and Shift-Cmd-. also located in View/Zoom.
Also note that if you’re doing this repeatedly to resize your text, you may want to adjust your zoom default (which also impacts QuickReference panels) in the upper-right of the Editor preference pane. Panels you’ve already viewed once within the current session are already pre-loaded, so you may need to reload the project to see the change.
can’t it just fit in the middle of bottom bar or the middle of the top bar? if not there, why can’t one include somewhere on the top near the editing tools?
Because you can already use the keyboard shortcuts and menu items and it would be overkill.
Maybe the app isn’t working correctly for me then. When I change zoom settings through the menu bar (zoom in zoom out), it seems to work in the quick ref panel. but when I try to use the shortcut (cmd <,>) it doesn’t work. I’d really like to use the shortcut if this is supposed to work.
Actually nevermind. didn’t realize I had to press the shift key as well.
Case solved. So no worries.
