1:1 paid help to set up a backup system

Is there anyone out there offering a service to work 1:1 online (screen share) to help get my backup system organized? I’m in Pacific time.

I lost a couple of days work and need support -

Thank you, Cynthia

Hi.
By “system”, do you mean something like “the right procedure and Scrivener settings”, or rather a physical or cloud setup?

Please specify your operating system. (Mac/Windows/other)

If you have Dropbox, I can send you a screenshot of what my backup system looks like.

Hello Vincent ~
It appears that the Scrivener backup on my Mabook isn’t in the right place. I think the backup folder is on the hard drive, but it should be in my iCloud.

I want this set up correctly, then organize all my Scrivener projects. I need some hand-holding. I see you are a Windows person…hmmmm.

What is your fee? I’m imagining a Zoom call where I can share my screen and you direct.

Hi thanks for responding. I do not have dropbox. I use icloud.

Please check your private messages.

AFAIK Dropbox is recommended by L&L themselves over iCloud. Must be why you lost work.

I use Dropbox for years, never lost a word.

That’s mostly the recommendation for sync.
For backups, any decent / reliable cloud will do.
(One that the user trusts enough for safety/backup purposes, that is.)

The “project not in a recommended location” message is an FAQ, for which the answer is here: “Project not in a recommended save location” error / macOS: Troubleshooting / Knowledge Base - Literature and Latte Support
