69000 word manuscript produced 5 pages after compile

Hello everyone,
I’ve tried everything - but when I compile my novel I get five pages with the words ‘Chapter 1’ through to ‘Chapter 45’ written on them …and no actual manuscript.
In the attached screenshot - which shows my Compile settings and the ‘print job’ data box it produces - I’ve deliberately excluded front matter to remove my personal data from the example.
I don’t know if this is signifiant, but in the compile preview screen it’s just possible to see that the Book Title - as shown on the page header - is written in reversed text …bizarrely.
Of course, I’ve viewed the ‘Getting your work out’ vids, many time, and I’m absolutely certain my settings agree with the basics.
Can anyone offer me a hint of what to try next, please?

Hmmm - I see I’m not allowed to upload screenshot…

Tagging @AmberV and @kewms, who are with Scrivener support and will be able to change settings to allow you post a screenshot (and perhaps offer assistance). Bear in mind that it’s the weekend!

Ahh - great! Thanks Kinsey. I’m happy to wait

@justintyers I’ve adjusted your trust level so you can post the screenshot. Most likely the issue is that you simply need to choose a different section layout for your documents, so that the document text is included as well as the added “Chapter” info (or remove the chapter numbering, if that’s not pertinent). In the main compile window, you can see the type of documents you’re working with on the right, and in the middle section you can see what layout they’ve been assigned. Click the “Assign Section Layouts…” button at the bottom to change the setup.

(This is just to indicate where you’re looking; in this case, the “Heading” layout includes both the binder title of the document as well as its text; what you have might be only adding a “Chapter N” heading and excluding both the document title and its text. Depending on the compile format you’ve chosen, different layouts will be available, and you can edit the format to change them or add new ones as you like.)

Thanks very much MimeticMouton - yes that was exactly where I was going wrong.
