A bug or a feature? Simultaneous scrolling with two vertically split windows

I didn’t want to report this as a bug, because as far as I know it might be a feature. Whatever it is, I’m trying to get rid of it.

(1) I am in split screen (vertically) with two text documents side-by-side
(2) When I scroll down the lefthand side document (using the trackpad on my macbook), the right-hand side document scrolls as well, even though they are two different documents.
(3) It does not do this all the time, but whenever it starts, it will persist for the rest of the time I’m in split-screen mode

Anyone else experience this? Is this a feature I’m just enabling on accident?

Which versions of macOS and Scrivener are you using? The scrolling should obviously work only on whichever editor the cursor is over.

Apple menu  > System Preferences > Accessibility > Pointer Control > Trackpad Options > Scrolling >

(1) toggle “with inertia” to “without inertia”

(2) untick the tick box next to the word “Scrolling”

(3) re-tick the tick box next to the word “Scrolling”

(4) toggle “without inertia” back to “with inertia”

(5) click “OK”

Does the issue disappear then?
