Consider the following word (in Portuguese): “Português”.
I have trouble getting the “ê” character everytime the ^ accent is typed too quickly after the “u”.
As Radek pointed out, the time interval between ^ and “e” is not important, only the one between “u” and ^. If this interval is big enough, the accent appears; if it isn’t, it doesn’t.
The reason I’m pressing this point is because it’s really disruptive to the writing process, even more so because it happens when we are more in “flow”…
