I regularly encounter circumstances where I want to visually key myself in to the fact that a comment I made applies to multiple words in a paragraph. I would love it if I could select non-contiguous words and insert a comment that, when hovered over, changes color slightly to indicate all words associated with it.
That wouldn’t be possible given how comments work, nor would it be compatible with how any other program works with comments that I’m aware of.
But, one doesn’t really need special features to do things like this. How I would approach this problem is with the highlight tool.
The highlighted marker in the annotated text lets me know to look for highlights around it, and what colour I’m using to indicate relationships. That way I can have multiple notes with highlighted text in proximity.
