Hi. First and foremost, Scrivener is super awesome!
I think it would be handy to have a middle name field and / or a fullname field in the Author Information settings panel. I plan to use my middle name when I publish, but I don’t want to stick it in the Forename field as it’s not a compound first name.
I know it can be set and save in Compile using Author(s), but I figured it would be handy to be able to set it once and not have to change it for each project.
Cheers,
Shannon
Hi.
If you often create new projects, it may be worth creating yourself your own custom template.
Those names in the compiler’s metadata, once set, are saved along in the template.
Creating a new project later on from that template will have those fields already set.
Oh that’s a great idea! I haven’t started making templates, but I’ll give it a try! Thanks!
Personalized templates are a great time-saver when starting a new project.
If you have your ways around a project, and/or stuff (specific documents with special characters or edit marks, documents templates, a predesigned hierarchy, labels, custom metadata, whatever that’s redundant) that you want systematically in your projects, designing your own template is the way to go.
Mine’s now at 8.0, and still constantly evolving.
