Adding a TITLE to a Scrivener project

I am having a minor – but annoying – problem, not with Scrivener. I want to entitle a PROJECT that differs from the title of, say, the DRAFT in the binder section.
That is, how do I title the entire project that is separate from that of the first section I work on.
I hope this makes sense.

Just renaming the Draft folder should do this. When renaming the Project, rename the folder, and Scrivener will rename the index file for you…

Are you trying to rename the project in Finder/File Explorer? If so, that’s all you have to do, there is nothing special about that. On Windows you must close the project before doing so, otherwise it will get confused. On the Mac it doesn’t matter so much as open document windows are updated by the file system on the fly. If that’s what you mean, then use the File menu to reveal the project’s location, with the command for doing so toward the top, and proceed as you would, to rename a PDF or anything else.

Otherwise if you mean to give the project a title, in the sense of what you might see on a cover page, or in a running header, then:

  1. Open File ▸ Compile...
  2. Select the metadata tab on the right side.
  3. Type in the title into the given field. You can leave the abbreviated title blank.
  4. Hold down Alt / Option on your keyboard, and click the Save button, which will appear toward the bottom when doing so.
