I was getting frustrated in selecting binder fonts, as I had 12,13,14,18,24,36 as options.
And 18 was just a touch too small.
Some apps you can click and enter a font by hand. (Notes) This doesn’t happen in the Settings menu.
After much groveling, in the fonts selection panel, there is a pale grey circle with 3 dots icon in the upper left corner of the Fonts selection panel.
One of the options here is to add sizes to the selections. So now my selections are every 2 points to 24, every 4 points to 36, every 6 points to 72 and every 12 points to 144. You have to close and reopen the modal window to see the changes.
This is NOT a scrivener problem. The same selection is common to other mac apps, and fixing it in one place fixes them everywhere.
It’s a usage tip. The forum interface doesn’t have a tag for that. Or rather, after I selected usage tip it insisted on an additional tag. This seemed the least problematic.
All right. I tagged it as “usage-tips / os-related / configuration / feature”. Some categories don’t have enough legs to stand on their own feet (exclusively). So this isn’t perfect, either.
ADDED LATER: Funny, the “wishlist” tag just resurrects itself and removes “feature”. I have no idea why this happens.
