Adobe Caslon Pro Regular and Italic Fonts not appearing in Scrivener

I hope someone can help. I just bought these two fonts from myfonts.com, nonrefundable, and installed them on my Mac Sierra 10.12.6. I’m using Scrivener 3.0.3.

I bought the fonts for a novel in progress. The fonts appear elsewhere, for example in Pages, but do not show up in Scrivener, neither in the dropdown menu nor when I choose All Fonts. This isn’t the first time it’s happened that a font doesn’t appear, but it is the first time I’ve paid $70 and am not able to use the fonts.

How can I fix this? Any help appreciated. I’m not tech savvy with Mac.

Thanks.

Edit to add: I made a temporary clumsy workaround method, which is to import into my Scrivener project some text from Pages that has been formatted with the Adobe Caslon Pro fonts. The Adobe Caslon Pro font now appears in the “Choose the Font Family” window on the toolbar, but still does not appear in the “Show All Fonts” options. I hope someone has a better solution, thanks.

Do the fonts appear in Font Book? Are they available in TextEdit?

Also, the current version of Mac Scrivener is 3.1.2. Please install the update.

Hi, Katherine.

Thanks for the response.

Fonts appear in Font Book, not in Text Edit. After restarting the computer several times, the fonts appear in both Scrivener 2 and Scrivener 3.

I don’t want to risk updating until the book is complete, as I’m still getting used to this version.

Text Edit is a good test, as it uses the same Mac OS text system that both Scrivener 2 and Scrivener 3 do. If it doesn’t have a font, Scrivener won’t either.

It’s your call, of course, but Scrivener 3.1.2 has some significant bug fixes. Complete release notes here:
