Advantages of Scapple over Apple Freeform

Hi,

May you express which are the advantages you find in Scapple over Apple Freeform?

The ones for me are:

  • How quick it is to just drag a note over the other to create a connection, and not have an arrow in the connector line by default.
  • Its immediate compatibility with Scrivener.

Anything else I should consider?

Then, there is the huge minus that makes me be tempted by Freeform, and is the fact that this latter exists on the iPhone and iPad as well, and synchronized immediately with the Mac version.

The big plus for me is that Scapple boards are individual files. Freeform boards are not. Just like individual notes are in Apple Notes, they are (I forget the tech term) datafiles within the program.

That being said, I use both. Scapple is great for plotting stories and novels, whereas I find Freeform better for more complicated timelines.

I think Scapple is great with many advantages over Freedom. It is just a shame there isn’t a ipad/iphone app as well
